This was our final cluster celebration and we wanted to make it a good one! Therefore, we got a great speaker, some awesome people and a good spread of food and drink and got together to celebrate our 3 years together:
Term 3 Cluster Celebration
In Term 3 we had an interactive cluster celebration with Warren Bruce from the University of Canterbury. The theme was science and we all came away with fantastic new ideas and ways of spicing up our science programmes!!
Term 1 Cluster Celebration Yesterday, Wednesday 18 March at 4 pm our cluster of 8 schools congregated at Parkview School Hall for our term celebration. Parkview and Wainoni did a fantastic job or organising inspiring speakers with food and drinks to follow. Thanks.
Our first speaker, Adrian Rennie (Deputy Principal of Northcote School) took us on Northcote School’s journey of developing learners through using the Habits of Mind. Adrian has worked extensively with Art Costa and Karen Boyes. He has published a number of books around using the Habits of Mind and writes a regular column in the Teachers' Matter Magazine.
Nicole and Tracey from Freeville School then shared their inquiry approach to learning. Nicole and Tracey are experienced practitioners of inquiry with juniors and presented many practical ideas. They have also agreed to work further with teachers of junior classes in our cluster next term.
Thank you to all the staff who turned up to make this event a memorable one.
